| Meet & Greet Us "Kelayang Beach Cottages " |
 Our recent renovation of a somewhat rundown cottage complex is just about finished finally providing a viable and inexpensive place to stay beach side. We hope this is the start of our building an environmentally friendly and enjoyable place to relax and explore this wonderful island. My wife, Linda, and her family are Belitung natives of mixed Indonesian cultural background.
My name is Jeff and I am a 20 plus year part time Bali resident our son Zachary (10) was born in Bali. We split time between Bali and Rehoboth Beach, DE USA. The third partner is Brian a mega yacht captain originally from New Jersey but spends most his time out on the water captaining some of the planets most exclusive yachts.
My wife’s sister Mia, our nephew Rudy and brothers Kusnadi and Asri plus various other family members are the people who run the resort. Hopefully you will get to meet my wonderful Mother-in-law Ibu Arsi who even at 75 can’t stop working. Asri is the short one with Coke bottle glasses and Kus is the more serious grey haired guy. We also employ as many Kelayang locals as we can afford.
We hope to talk the local government into creating a marine preserve in the Tanjung Kelayang to Tanjung Tinggi area and have plans for a turtle rehabilitation site as Belitung is a major egg laying spot and the eggs are sold at many local markets . Our bargaining power with the local government is directly related to us bringing tourism to Belitung so just by coming you are helping the local environment. If while you are here and you meet anyone, especially government people, please let them know that trash, wrecked reefs or any other environmental degrading act is bad for business. This is something they can understand. Also if you see any trash on the hotel premises please feel free to point this out to our employees.
